When I launched my first Airbnb in 2017, my goal was to create a healthy income stream so that I could take my day job down to 50%. I’d have more freedom and could spend more time with my kids, traveling, or really just doing whatever I want.
Everyone online made it seem so easy: launch an Airbnb, watch the money come in, and turn this into passive income.
Well, no. That’s not really the way it works, is it?
I ended up working 16 hour days for about 6 months and made (drumroll please) $1087 profit. Yay?
Spoiler: I learned a ton and kept improving my Airbnb. I made $36K profit during my second year. Read more about my story.
